Membership in the Dayton Area Professional Network (DAPN) has several benefits:
- Your Own Web Site -- Broadleaf Computer Services, a DAPN group member, offers a special deal for DAPN members. Whether you have a current web site or not, Broadleaf Computer Services will register your domain name and host your web site for $225 per year. Also, you will be eligible for unlimited consulting at a 50% discount from their regular rate to create and/or move your web site to their hosting service. This offer applies for as long as you are a member in good standing with DAPN.
- Hot Business Leads -- personal referrals of people needing services. We have several natural lead flow "loops" in our group. For instance, the realtor can recommend a mortgage banker and title company. We have gaps in existing loops and new loops to create.
There is a small market for services among the 30 or so professional members of DAPN itself (we all need cell phones, painting and accounting services at some time or another).
- Word of Mouth Advertising -- nearly every meeting all the members present hear positive feedback about a job well done by one member. This could be your business getting the good press.
- Leadership Opportunities -- we have an informal, rotating leadership with opportunities every year.
- Web Site Advertising -- within the DAPN web site.
- Learning About Other Businesses -- cross fertilization of ideas.
- Social Events -- about twice a year.
- Combined Print Advertising -- Our booklets with each member's listing are handed out at events throughout the Dayton and to our members' clients. This represents valuable publicity and advertising for members.
- Win/Win Client Interaction -- improve your value proposition in your clients eyes by recommending complementary service providers. For instance, a remodeling contractor that can recommend a interior designer, painter, wall paper hanger and mortgage lender that will please a client compared to a contractor that does not have these relationships established.
There are some costs of membership:
- breakfast
- annual membership fee
- about an hour of your time.
- time to think about leads, pass along business cards -- in general this is helping your clients and colleagues in exchange for their doing the same for you.
- take extra money to the bank.
Come determine the cost/benefit ratio for yourself next week!
